Amarco Designer – Quick user guide
12.1 General
You find more information about Amarco Designer in Amarco Designer user guide.
With Amarco Designer you define / modify objects structures and scenarios (to produce high
quality Visio / HTM output you use Amarco Cartography).
To start Amarco Designer, you use the AmarcoDesigner.vst file to create a new diagram, or
load an existing Visio diagram created previously with Amarco Designer.vst.
Amarco Designer adds a new toolbar to Visio menu:

Main commands
Setup
Activate the setup form
Connect database (CxDB)
Connect all service points according to database information.
To put the connected services points on the structure, use the
checkbox SP on structure in the setup form. The structure’s
service points are set if they are not connected.
Connection free (CxFree)
Connect all service points according to their compatibility. Two
service points are connected if they are of the same type and
one of the following rules is fulfilled:
They are client – server and both for objects inside a
structure or outside a structure
They are client – server, for objects one inside and one
outside the structure
They are client – client, or server – server, for objects one
the structure and one inside the structure
They are client – server, for objects one outside the
structure and one the structure
To put the connected services points on the structure, use the
checkbox SP on structure in the setup form.
Save
The structure and the connections between objects are saved in
the database.
Analyze
The current drawing is analyzed. Objects without definition are
indicated (they change color)
Search
Activate the search form to find an item for the selected item,
which can be an object or a service point.
Design
Activate the design form for the selected shape.
Update from DB
Update the drawing (caption, relations…) with information read
