 Amarco Designer
Graphical designer for an information
repository
Amarco Designer helps you design graphically the architecture and
the behavior of your systems. These information are then stored in the
repository database (SQL Server 2000, Access) to be fully used by other modules of Amarco Tools suite.
Amarco Designer implements a service oriented component design method :
graphical design, assembly and reuse, store the result in a database.
On an existing design, you can map a service oriented process using
current service point and services definitions.
The main functions of this software are:
- Define external and internal architecture of systems
- Display with a great graphical quality the relationship between
systems
- Build and develop a repository (an organized inventory), insuring the storage for systems,
service points, services descriptions and relationships.
- Define dynamically the system processes insuring a high coherence
with the system structure and the associated services
Amarco Designer allows you to manage the systems as in real life:
- Define assemblies of objects in a structure
- Decompose a complex system into its component parts
Amarco Designer uses Microsoft Visio to build graphically your
application. It can read your design and store the associated information in
the repository database.
All objects in the database are available to you to create new solutions.
Amarco Designer sets up automatically links between compatible systems.
A specially designated toolbar enable the design and the Visio -
database relation.

How to use Amarco Designer
| You define the architecture of your systems. You can
search for systems already defined. This allows you to make new
assemblies of existing systems. You define the service exchanges
between systems, the requested and rendered services, as well as
"service qualities" like time, cost associated to services. |
 |
| Your design with systems and structures is saved to the
repository. It becomes available for other designs.
If the information that you designed is appropriate, Amarco Designer
redraws automatically your systems, by setting the service points
and the connections. |
 |
| You can build dynamically processes that are mapped to
the structure of your system. These processes use only the services
defined before. This way you insure a permanent compatibility the service repository |
 |
| You can animate locally the process designed.
The process is also saved to the repository, so you can exploit its
related information later. |
 |
The data stored in the repository define formally your system. They
will be used by Amarco Cartography tools to create automatically graphical
representations. |
